This Library Is Going to the Dogs!
Limited Capacity seats available

Our library is an essential part of our learning community. We have programs that reach all the way to California and as close as our city shelter. The library, the future educators class and an elementary school are piloting the West Coast’s Red Rover program which builds empathy for animals while strengthening the elementary school students’ reading skills. Teenagers get to practice teaching as they learn about Social Emotional Learning. We use our school library’s MakerSpace for students to create Snuffle Mats, which are enrichment toys for shelter dogs. Mainstreamed and FMD classes make the mats we donate to the shelter. Our after school animal club has created partnerships with animal organizations. We are helping develop future community leaders. Our students graduate with practice in the career they hope to pursue and with an overview of the many ways they can help the community animals.
