A decade of research shows that students of Board-certified teachers learn more than their peers without Board-certified teachers. Studies have also found that the positive impact of having a Board-certified teacher is even greater for minority and low-income students. Come learn about the revised National Board Certification process and how it can transform your teaching. We will cover the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) 5 Core Propositions, Architecture of Accomplished Teaching, and Library Media Standards. Participants will have a brief overview of the Assessment Center activity and 3 written Portfolio entries for LMS's with tips and tricks for success along the way.

Component 1 - Content Knowledge
Component 2 - Differentiation in Instruction
Component 3 - Teaching Practice and Learning Environment
Component 4 - Effective and Reflective Practitioner

National Board Certification requires candidates to evaluate their current teaching practice. It is specific to your unique teaching situation and will directly impact your students.
